I thought this was strange. Finally I understood what had happened. In English, it means that workmen are repairing the road, and that you must take a different road. When my friends saw the word ‘DIVERSION’ on a road sign, they thought they were going to have fun. Instead, the road ended in a large hold.
English people have problems too when they learn foreign languages. Once in Paris. when someone offered me some more coffee, I said ‘Thank you’ in French. I meant that I would like some more, However , to my surprise the coffee pot was taken away! Later I found out that ‘Thank you’ in French means ‘No, thank you.’

Mental Activities Help Save Memory
Doing mental activities is helpful. Reading books and writing at any age may save memory, a new (1) finds.

On this 3-mile walk, we pass about 8 other houses and 15 other dogs.Folks in my neighborhood like dogs! But what is troubling is that 6 of these dogs appear to be chained all the time.I don’t monitor this, but I have walked by at various times of the day and they were always chained.

I had to learn to say “please”, “sorry”, “thank you”, whether I felt it or not. Once, while buying a ticket to Waterloo, I forgot to say “please”.
